Arthur Kitching. His body if recovered was never identified. He studied engineering at evening class but was continually drawn to art and writing.

Kitching was educated at Highgate School and Emmanuel College Cambridge.
Kitching was the son of George Kitching a doctor of Enfield Middlesex and his wife Mary Ann Belts. He was ordained in 1899 and was after a curate at St Martins Birmingham before going to Uganda as a Church Mission Society CMS missionary. An expressive yet intricate nude study by the artist Arthur Kitching 1912-1981 depicting a portrait of a lady posing by the bathtub with a green towel. Many of the pictures are in the possession of the family.
